How to create a Vector Cartoon using GIMP and Inkscape





Hi Everyone, In this video I'm gonna show you How to create a Vector Cartoon using GIMP and Inkscape. This is also the Method for converting BitMap Images into a Vector Graphics using the Software called Inkscape.

Vector Graphics:
Vector graphics is the use of polygons to represent images in computer graphics.

Note:
You can also try this same method using Photoshop and Illustrator.

Steps:
1. Create a Cartoon using GIMP
1st method

2nd Method

Adding Shadows and Highlights (Optional)

3. Drag and Drop the Cartoon Image into Inkscape
4. Go to Path - Trace Bitmap
5. Choose Color
6. In Scans put the value Higher than the number of Colors in the Cartoon Image. Atleast +1 Value Higher
7. Uncheck Smooth
8. Click OK
9. Vector Image is Created. Delete the Original
10. Scale the vector image inside the Document
11. Save it as .svg or .svgz
12. Open it in Browser
